• Tongxiang Qiushi Middle School in China looking for an exchange
  with an American school, teachers and students

Our school is called Tongxiang Qiushi Middle School, which is a private school founded in 2000 and funded by Tongxiang Senior High School,Tongxiang Foreign Trade Ltd.C. and Tongxiang Tiannv Groups.

Tongxiang Qiushi Middle School is located in the city of Tongxiang between Shanghai and Hangzhou, about an hour's drive to Shanghai or to Hangzhou. The total building area is about 50,000 square metres ( approximately 538,196 square feet ). Students enjoy modern teaching facilities including a new library, a multi-purpose building, science labs, a 400-metres track and air-conditioned classrooms with projectors and 70-inch televisions. Each teacher receives a school-issued laptop computer for use in the classroom and office. Student dorms are equipped with air-conditioning and hot water.

Tongxiang Qiushi Middle School is a boarding school with an enrollment of over 2200 students and over 130 teachers. Our school encourages the educational development of students and fostering of a love of knowledge. We focus on the nurturing of student's personal growth, academically, physically and mentally.
During the past eight years, our school has received many awards including Model School of Zhejiang Province as well as being rated three ( out of three ) stars by the Educational Bureau of Tongxiang City. The school has occupied the top position in the city's High School Entrance Exams , maintaining an average pass rate of over 95% with 70% of the students able to enter the key high schools of the city. It has been the top school in both the Grade 9 humanities and sciences exam for 7 years running.The school performs well in many types of competitions with over 60 students receiving 1st prize awards in the provincial and national competitions. In 2004, the school won the 2nd prize in the Zhejiang science competition. In the national robotics competitions held in Xi'an, our school earned the privilege to represent Zhejiang Province.

Our school has established friendly relation with two Singapore middle schools and a Japanese middle school. Our school enjoys a high reputation in these areas.
Intended program of cooperation between the USA and China:
1. Teachers exchange : We hope to send our teachers to American schools to teach Chinese and American schools can send their teachers to ours to teach English ;
2. Students exchange : In summer, American schools can send their students to the our school for a visit to learn Chinese culture and its language and travel in China as well, and vice versa.
